QD-NVL V1 ( Ranger Green / Black )
Night vision is a marvelous invention, it’s a wearable superpower that lets you own the night. But the one main downsides to night vision is its cost. Most modern-day night vision devices can cost anywhere from $2,000- $50,000. so securing these devices to your helmet is an excellent way to save yourself from losing or breaking a very expensive optic.
So, after dealing with some of the issues that come with night vision, I came up with the quick detach night vision lanyard or QD-NVL for short. This is a lightweight Velcro-based lanyard that is only slightly bigger than a standard flag patch. Unlike other Velcro-mounted night vision lanyards on the market, this one allows the user to instantly connect and disconnect their night vision device via the use of an extremely durable ITW Nexus QUASM buckle. This lanyard allows the user to mount the lanyard exactly where they want it on their helmet once without having to constantly remove it and re-apply it every time they put on their NVG’s. This process is not only noisy but also wears down the Velcro on your helmet. The buckle gives the user an audible and tactile “click” when the lanyard is attached to ensure to the user that the device is secured, allowing the user to attach their device to the lanyard while wearing their helmet.
- Velcro mounted
- Quick detach system
- Adjustable tension
- Additional cordage loop
- Low profile
